Seafest Cardboard Regatta 2019
SITUATION
Pirates in the Prince Rupert Harbour? The Prince Rupert Harbour, as one of the deepest ice-free ports in North America might become the prime location for pirates looking for their next plunder. We need a fleet of seafarers ready to show our might to keep the pirates at bay! At last year’s Seafest, the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets tested their boat building skills and launched their cardboard and duct-tape boats in the harbour, but they need the help of the youth of Prince Rupert if they are to build a true fleet that will stand up to any pirates entering the harbour!
MISSION
Have you got what it takes to race your own 2 person cardboard boat in the Price Rupert Harbour? If you choose to accept this challenge, your team of 4 will construct your boat on Sunday Afternoon after the parade using only the provided cardboard and duct-tape. Then on Sunday afternoon in the Harbour, two brave team mates will board their boats and race them against the other teams in the Prince Rupert Harbour. The winners will win the honour of placing their boat name on the coveted Cardboard Regatta Trophy.
