About Sea Cadets
Royal Canadian Sea Cadets is a youth organization for young people aged 12 - 18. Cadets learn about the naval and maritime environment by participating in a variety of activities on and off the water. Sea Cadets learn how to work as a team and gain leadership skills through sailing, seamanship, sports and fitness activities, drill, ceremonies, and more.
Additionally, Captain Cook Sea Cadets can participate in annual sailing regattas, marksmanship, drill and band competitions. Sea Cadets also participate in ceremonial events and citizenship activities that allow them to connect to their Canadian naval heritage.
Canada’s motto, A Mari usque ad Mare (From Sea to Sea) can be applied to Sea Cadets. With Sea Cadet Corps found all across the country and given Canada’s abundance of water and shoreline, the opportunities are many. Our local Prince Rupert Sea Cadets have many opportunities to travel and meet other cadets across Canada for training, activities and competitions. Some senior cadets also get the opportunity to participate in International exchanges.
